Because we do not know every user personally, these Terms of Service (“Terms”) help define the rules for using our platform and protect both you and us.
Definitions
When we say “Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us,” we mean MoviePrepper, operated by CineScura Inc., a company based in the United States.
When we say “Service,” we mean all MoviePrepper websites, applications, and tools, including script breakdown, scheduling, budgeting, call sheets, reporting, and related production features.
When we say “Project,” we mean a single production workspace licensed for one production.
When we say “You” or “your,” we mean any individual or organization using the Service.
Agreement to These Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
Account Terms
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password, and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Ensure that any collaborators you invite comply with these Terms
You may not:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
- Create accounts using automated methods or bots
We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access to your account.
Use of the Service
MoviePrepper is a production planning and management tool. You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose.
- You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the platform
- You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service
- You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the system
- You may not interfere with the performance, integrity, or security of the Service
- You may not use automated systems, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to access the Service
Project Licensing
MoviePrepper operates on a per-project licensing model.
- Each Project license applies to one production only
- A Project may not be reused across multiple productions
- A production is defined as a single film, episode, commercial, or similar creative work
You may not reuse a Project workspace for multiple unrelated productions or circumvent licensing limits through renaming or repurposing Projects.
We reserve the right to monitor usage and enforce this policy, including suspending or restricting access if misuse is detected.
Upgrades
Projects may be upgraded at any time by paying the price difference between tiers. Upgrades take effect immediately and retain all existing data.
Collaborators and Usage Limits
Each plan includes limits on the number of collaborators and production scope, such as shoot days.
- You may not exceed plan limits without upgrading
- You may not share access in a way that circumvents plan restrictions
We may enforce limits by restricting access or requiring an upgrade.
Payments, Fees, and Refunds
All fees are charged per Project unless otherwise specified and are processed through third-party payment providers.
Prices may change at any time for future purchases.
Refunds
All payments are generally non-refundable once the Service has been used. Any exceptions are granted at our sole discretion.
Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you upload to MoviePrepper, including scripts, schedules, budgets, and production data.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
We do not sell or use your content outside of providing the Service.
Production Outputs
The Service may generate outputs such as call sheets, reports, schedules, and PDFs.
- These outputs are tools provided for convenience
- They may contain errors or omissions
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all production materials before use
Service Availability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or continuous access
- We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free
- We do not guarantee that the Service will meet all of your requirements
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups and workflows, especially during active production.
Production Risk Disclaimer
MoviePrepper is a planning and coordination tool only.
- We are not responsible for production delays
- We are not responsible for scheduling conflicts
- We are not responsible for budget discrepancies
- We are not responsible for missed shoot days
- We are not responsible for crew or vendor coordination issues
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on information within the Service
You acknowledge that the success of a production depends on many factors outside the Service.
Data Retention and Deletion
You may cancel your account at any time.
- Your data may become inaccessible immediately after cancellation
- Your data will be permanently deleted within a reasonable period, typically within 30 to 60 days
- Once deleted, data cannot be recovered
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we are required to do so by law.
Termination may result in the loss of access to your data.
Intellectual Property
MoviePrepper and CineScura Inc. retain all rights to the Service, including all software, design, branding, and intellectual property.
You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoviePrepper shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, production losses, or loss of data.
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the applicable Project.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MoviePrepper and CineScura Inc. from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
