It started in prep.

MoviePrepper began as a set of tools cinematographer Filip Vandewal, SBC created for the productions he was working on.

It grew out of years working on features, television, shorts and commercials — seeing how professional productions are run, what actually matters in prep, and where unnecessary work gets in the way of the creative process.

Over time, those individual tools were brought together so information could carry from one part of the production into the next, instead of constantly being retyped, checked and updated in different places.

The goal was simple: spend more time focusing on the creative side of prep, and less time managing the logistical side.

Today, MoviePrepper is available to other filmmakers and productions.
